Troy Chapman, founder of Chapman Construction, comes from a long line of Swiss carpenters whose craftsmanship helped build Francis, Washington—including its historic church, lumber mill and railroad station. Raised in the Pacific Northwest, Troy grew up working with wood, learning the trade from his grandfather and developing a deep appreciation for preserving homes.
At 16, he began working with a general contractor, gaining hands-on experience building custom homes while working his way through college. After graduating, Troy specialized in residential energy conservation, helping homeowners improve efficiency through weatherization and retrofits. He later earned a Master’s in Public Policy and spent time in bio-medicine business development before returning to his true passion—home building.
Starting with just his truck and tools, Troy founded Chapman Construction to restore and modernize old homes while maintaining their character. Over the past nine years, he has built a skilled team, focusing on energy-efficient retrofits, home additions, solar installation and heat pump upgrades. His mission is simple: revitalize historic homes, bringing them up to modern standards without unnecessary demolition.
Troy remains hands-on, overseeing every project, guiding clients through the planning process and ensuring quality craftsmanship at every stage. Outside of work, he embraces the PNW lifestyle and the Great Outdoors—mountain biking, skiing, kayaking—and shares his love of music by writing and performing in Seattle venues. His love for the outdoors, natural beauty and the craft of woodworking has made Chapman Construction a true and honest expression he’s been happy to share with his fellow community.
