Seattle Magnolia - DADU (Detached Accessory Dwelling Unit)

Modern meets historic with the addition of this detached backyard haven tucked into the hillside behind a charming brick Tudor home in Seattle’s Magnolia neighborhood. The Chapman Construction team created more usable square footage and secure covered parking for these clients including a new studio office, walk-in shower bathroom, wet bar, 2 car garage, roof top deck, and privacy fence. The exterior finishes on the DADU pull everything together with white fiber cement staggered siding adorning the top floor, juxtaposed against the black plank siding utilized for the garage accessed at the back alley. Matte black exterior barn lights were installed to tie in the historic feel, creating a harmonious blend of old and new. These clients are thrilled to have a dedicated space to work from home, entertain guests, and park safely in Seattle.
