Home Theater Remodel

Chapman Construction converted a unfinished basement space into a beautiful rustic home theater. Working within the rustic theme Chapman Construction sourced local wood products to add richness and warmth to this family gathering space.

The project incorporated

- a reclaimed Douglas fir accent wall with wrought iron nails;

- a locally sourced walnut slab for the bar top;

- and all of the trim and millwork was milled and finished onsite from Clear Vertical Grain Douglas Fir for a truly unique home theater experience.

The rustic barn door separates the theater and the exercise room. The ceiling was framed to hide old unsightly duct work and custom built ins were created to house Audio Visual equipment, an integrated roll down screen, and cubbies for pillows and blankets.

The gym adjacent to the theater incorporated recycled rubber flooring and a new full bath was added to the basement to round out a complete make over to this previously empty, unfinished space.
